OUTCOME

A medical TENS machine was chosen to be redesigned during this project. A thorough market research was undertaken, including the evaluation of existing products, allowing opportunities within the market to be highlighted. Following this, a number of brainstorming and initial concept sketches were explored before a chosen design, using the Pugh Matrix, was selected. The wristband concept was then developed which would be charged by wrist movements and enable effective pain relief to users. During the project a House of Quality was conducted to compare and define target specifications aganist existing TENS machine. A branding image, poster and point of sale were created using Adobe Photoshop, Siemens NX and Keyshot.

'Arthur is a wearale wristband that charges from your movements. When you feel pain, the device can be stretched over the area you want to treat. It sends small electrical pulses through your nerves that simulates natural pain killers, known as endorphins, to help you manage your joint pain when you are on the go.

As Arthur charges from your movement, this encourages you to stay active which is a great way to relieve arthritis pain, enabling your motion.'
